چکیده

Objectives Neonatal sepsis is a major contributor to morbidity and mortality worldwide. Although blood culture the gold standard of diagnosis, it often lacks sensitivity diagnostic speed. Platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) widely available, effective, simple, affordable marker that can predict early onset neonatal (EONS).
Objective To assess correlation between PLR EONS as well value for predicting EONS.
Methods This study included all inpatient neonates with suspected early-onset at Dr. R. D. Kandou Hospital, Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia. Neonates were categorized into (confirmed by positive results) non-sepsis (negative groups. Bivariate analysis, including chi-square test categorical data independent t-test numerical data, was performed identify any significant associations platelet-to-lymphocyte EONS. The sensitivity, specificity, area under receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve calculated determine optimal cut-off point Results In this study, we investigated relationship (EONS) in 176 Blood cultures confirmed 84 (47.7%), Klebsiella pneumoniae being most common causative organism. We found (p<0.001), 61.806 identified high (90.2%) specificity (85.7%)
Conclusion Our demonstrates strong EONS, be used valuable sepsis. These findings could aid identification treatment sepsis, ultimately improving patient outcomes.

Eosinopenia and Neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio as diagnostic tools in neonatal early onset sepsis -a single center observational study

Background and Objective: Neonatal sepsis is associated with high mortality and has a favourable outcome when recognized and treated in a timely manner. In resource-limited settings, there is a need for an affordable test with a short turnaround time for timely diagnosis of sepsis. The aim of this study was to find out the role of eosinopenia and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in screenin...

Platelet-to-Lymphocyte Ratio

Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) is a life-threatening acute complication of diabetes mellitus and the novel systemic inflammation marker platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) may be associated with clinical outcome in patients with DKA. This study aimed to investigate the utility of PLR in predicting 90-day clinical outcomes in patients with DKA. Patient data exacted from the Multiparameter Intelligen...

The evaluation of neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio and platelet to lymphocyte ratio in patients with rheumatoid arthritis with and without ocular complications

Background: Rheumatoid Arthritis patients are evaluated during treatment for various inflammatory factors such as C-reactive protein, Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate, and Disease Activity Score, and other immune system-related factors. In the follow-up of patients with rheumatoid arthritis, hematologic factors associated with the immune system especially Platelet to Lymphocyte Ratio and Neutroph...

Diagnostic Value of Neutrophil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio and Platelet-to-Lymphocyte Ratio in Crohn's Disease

The aim of this study is to investigate the diagnostic efficacy of neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), neutrophil-to-monocyte ratio (NMR), lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR), and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) in patients with Crohn's disease (CD) and non-CD controls. These ratios were all derived from complete blood counts. Two hundred and six participants including CD inpatients and non...

Assessment of Neutrophil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio and Platelet-to-Lymphocyte Ratio in Atopic Dermatitis Patients

BACKGROUND To develop new strategies for identifying atopic dermatitis patients, a better understanding of the signs for chronic inflammatory status is needed. This study was designed to investigate whether neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) are related to the severity of atopic dermatitis (AD) assessed by the Scoring Atopic Dermatitis (SCORAD) index. MA...
